Pajama Day and Doughnuts!

Tuesday was Pajama Day in our class! We had to earn 20 class compliments from other teachers and adults and we did it!! Our pre-K friends across the hall celebrated with us. We read a story and then decorated pajamas together. We had a lot of fun with our friends!

Mrs. Parker said we needed the perfect snack for pajama day, so she got us doughnut holes. They were delicious! Finally, we finished the day with the "Tooty Ta"! We hope our friends come celebrate with us again soon!

A Whole Lot of Love!

Today we had a wonderful day in school! We read a book about our five senses. Mrs. Parker thought we did a fantastic job reading. We're going to practice it this week and take it home to read to our parents on Thursday. We work hard in school, but wanted to share this picture with you, too. It shows that along with learning, we share a whole lot of love!: )

Later in the day we worked on alphabet trees. We'll be taking them home so we can practice out alphabet letters at home. We had a fun day!

Who "Nose" what this is?

Today in Science we did a fun "smelly" activity! Mrs. Parker gave each table a basket with 5 baggies with cotton balls in them. In our Cooperative Groups we had to smell each bag and draw a picture of what we thought was inside. We had some close  guesses when we guessed the bags that smelled good. (They had lemon, vanilla, and cake icing.) We were surprised to see that we all guessed the hand sanitizer correctly and many of us knew the last bag (paprika) smelled like tacos or something spicy. We had a lot of fun with this experiment and then enjoyed making headbands with different types of noses on it.

Cooperation!

Today in Science we worked in Cooperative Groups! Each person had a special job to do while we looked for pictures of things that would smell good and things that would not! Mrs. Parker was proud of how well we worked in our groups and the many pictures we found. We're going to do a fun experiment tomorrow on our sense of smell. We wonder what Mrs. Parker will come up with this time!; )

On Friday we had an early release day. On those days we sometimes have our Specials class with a different teacher. This week we had Guidance with Mrs. May. She is very nice and we had a lot of fun! She said we were one of the best kindergarten classes she has ever seen! Of course, Mrs. Parker always says that, too.: )

Science Fun

On Tuesday we learned about the sense of touch. We made "Goop" and had tons of fun playing with it! "Goop" pours like a liquid, but feels dry when you touch it. It was really cool! It made a big of mess, but Mrs. Parker said that was OK.

great job and had a lot of fun learning!

Special Reader

On Friday we had a special reader in our class. Herena read a book she had been reading at home. We are so proud of her and can't wait to have other students read to us in class!

We missed you!

We are sorry we didn't post yesterday and have no pictures today. I must say that it was through no fault of the children. I totally forgot yesterday and got so wrapped up in teaching today that time passed me by. Tomorrow is our Fun Run and I promise to take pictures so you can see how hard the children worked to earn money for the school by running laps.: ) Check with us then!

Today we helped Mrs. Trotto, the pre-K teacher, celebrate her birthday. It's really not until tomorrow, but we surprised her! We made her cards and a video. Then we called her into our room, yelled "SURPRISE!" and sang to her. Finally we showed her our special video and gave her the cards. She really liked everything!

Best Class

Yesterday we visited the Media Center for the first time. Mrs. Johnson talked to us about checking out a library book next week and then read us a story. We can't wait to go back! On our way back to the room Mrs. Parker video taped us walking in the hallway. She said she was very proud of what a great job we were doing SWIMming in the hall. She even put a picture here for you to see!
